Valentine's Day History

There was a tradition in ancient Roman called Lupercalia, a fertility festival that happened mid-february. Pope Gelasius changed it to Valentine to honor a Christian martyrs (mujahidin) named Valentine. Valentine became popular in the 1700s and the tradition of sending love letters started to spread across Europe.
